Brook Lee Karner is a conundrum. He is a Miami-bred gringo born from a Guatemalan mother. Legend has it, he was born a girl and is now a man. At the age of 18 he received a lip tattoo that read "reckless" which has cursed him to be such ever since. He is a dreamer first, and a photographer second. If his life was to be made into a motion picture, it would be filmed on 35mm film.
Fiction is his first love. His childhood dream was to be an actor. After a longwinded adolescence, a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, and many bad decisions, Brook came upon the craft of visual storytelling. Fortunately, Brook was admitted to Florida State University's College of Motion Picture Arts in 2019. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc in his second semester. However, with great triumph and fortitude, he graduated with his MFA in Film Production in 2021.
Luckily for Brook, Hollywood has not spit him out yet. He is a proud union member of ICG Local 600, and has been recognized as a recent Emerging Cinematographer Award Honoree. Brook has many goals and aspirations, such as crafting a photo book and shooting his first feature. In the meantime, he is just happy to be here.
Based in Los Angeles, CA.
